Today, was a flipping lovely day.
Everything was good.
The day started with the normal, 'wake up slowly it's Friday' routine. While I was doing my recycling, on my driveway, a was startled by Mr. Down's-Hotel cheeky-chappy barman. He fancies my neighbour...I think...One day he was walking by her house, and we were having a cuppa together discussing our cars, he grabbed her cute face and gave her a smacker on the lips....she was a bit surprised.
Later, that week, after having a drink with friends in the pub - I had this impulse to grab his cheeks and kiss him very directly on his lips..in a fun way...his eyes were like saucers...I said,"That's a return for the kiss you gave my neighbour the other day". He blushed. It somehow made it's way back to my neighbour...who thought it was very funny.
He commented on the empty house next door and I explained, with compassion, about how difficult it had often been for me to be so nice, when I had often wanted to ask them to be a bit...more considerate of their almost constant noise levels. I did not ever complain, because I could see what she was having to deal with. A lot.
Then, again, during one of my relationships of the last sixteen years (there have been two) she had heard me shouting and becoming very upset...she had been worried...it must have been quite an argument..and I am, naturally, very loud in these circumstances. Not often, but when I blow a fuse....it's not quiet. It was just before we broke up and I was tired of the BS and being taken advantage of, lied to, the over-indulgent drinking habits and generally being played for an idiot. She did not complain. She had said that she was worried about me.
He said, "You poor thing, you'll feel better soon", and he kissed my hand in a really sweet way. He is the landlord to my friend, who has been through the wringer over the past few years. He's a lot happier since he's been living with him and his lovely wife, Linda (which is appropriate because it means "lovely", in Spanish). Linda had found my mobile phone, 2 weeks after I had lost it on a dog walk and got it back to me, through FB, and another person I know.
I thought, "I like you, you are a sweetheart". He is, he has a cheerful disposition all of the time and always makes funny sweet comments - to punters in the pub. What a cutie.
So, flippin lovely day today.
