Sagacious, Sagittarius. What is sage? Associated with the astrological sign of Sagittarius, which is associated with wisdom. Sage means 'wise'. It is essentially a herb. There are different types of sage. Green sage and white sage are the most commonly used in cuisine. The Californian white sage is perfect for smudging.
What is smudging? Smudging is an ancient tradition that is believed to have derived from the Native American culture. Sage was used in ceremonies to clear energies and bring a state of wisdom and clarity to the tribe. Tobacco was also used as a pipe smoking herb in order to 'ground' energies.
Sage is more commonly used today by individuals who consider herbs to be of benefit to health and wellbeing.
Sage can be easily purchased and I use it in my home to clear energies, after a visitor, or a contretemps. It is possible to sage your whole body, in the case of collecting energies from outside of yourself. It is recommended for HSP or Empaths, who are prone to being very affected by energies and can change their mood.
Whenever I return from anywhere, I sage myself. When my house needed clearing and cleansing, I sage. I sage my cat and my dog and if I could I would sage most people : )
After hoovering through, it is useful to sage. Buildings can retain energies, and the negative energies can literally hang around in the ether.
I use sage in cuisine. I keep a sage plant along with other beneficial herbs.
The ancients, ancient cultures teach a lot of earthy wisdom, and I consider that with the modern age of IT - energies whizzing all over the airways, through techno appliances, in everything around us. It is easy to feel ungrounded in this modern age. We can look to our ancestors to find ways to ground and clear our energies and use ancient remedies that reconnect us with the earth. This is a theory that I have developed through research and as a practitioner.
I highly recommend the use of sage and use of chemical-free tobacco and medicinal use of cannabis.
