....as a vegetarian, the hardest thing to resist was bacon sandwiches.
As Veganism has become a popular choice of dietary consumption there are challenges in that decision or lifestyle.
I watched a few videos about the benefits of Veganism and have researched why it is possible to literally become drawn and guided to eating food that do not include any type of animal product, without making a conscious decision to do so.
When I had my last 'tower moment', and could not eat - because I had no appetite - I was faced with how to re-learn, rebuild and reevaluate everything, including food and nutrition.
I found myself being increasingly repulsed by all meat products, dairy and even eggs. So, as I said, it was not a conscious choice, it was more a case of listening to what my body required.
I have noticed how much more energised I have felt, since removing all dairy products, all meats, cheeses and eggs. My body has become very lean and muscular and I hardly carry much fat. This is just fine, especially as an athletic person, apart from the cooler months when extra padding would be of some benefit.
Layers of light warm clothing helps and also the use of sun-pods and getting plenty of fresh air in nature, lots of beneficial exercise, yoga, meditation, time out and activity.
The challenges are how to make cakes without eggs and not to have honey. I make a lot of cakes : ) - to share with my friends : ) Strict Veganism does not accept any animal product, including honey. Other sweeteners are acceptable. Coconut sugar, maple syrup, unrefined sugar. My challenge is honey. It is delicious and works very well with many things, including salad dressings.
Do I have to be so orthodox? No. I do not have to call myself a Vegan. Everything that I have eliminated from my diet I do not actually have an appetite for. If I like honey, I like honey. If I use organic eggs in cakes, then I am using 'happy eggs', from free ranging happy hens.
I read that HSP, Empaths and awoken souls are most likely suited to a vegan diet. When you are very conscious of the negativity at large in society and culture you realise how abysmally we (as a human species) treat animals, especially in the food industry. The products of a sick industry has no appeal. This includes meat, fish and poultry and dairy product.
I look back to one year ago and I congratulate myself on having rediscovered myself, or re-birthed myself, after an exceptionally long labour. If I am asked about my dietary preferences I have found that it really is not worth explaining.
In general, as a misperception, the idea of not eating meat, fish or dairy supposes that you are depriving yourself. Not at all. I eat well and I make most of my food from scratch. I use vegetables, seeds, nuts and grains that have been produced without pesticides (poison) I feel much better, And it is a truth, "you are what you eat".
When you avoid toxicity in your diet, you find that this extends into your life. Toxic relationships, friendships, people, places and things, are not tolerable. The world is sick, full of sick people and animals and plants and this becomes more 'loud' as you detox your own life. You can still have compassion for all that is 'toxic', but you do not need to allow it into your life. When you eat clean, feel clean, think clean and live clean, it is exceptionally difficult to accept anything less.
You realise the gravitas of, "Be the change you want to see".
"I'm starting with the man in the mirror" (MJ)
"Let the children's laughter remind us who we used to be" (WH)
As we wake, we recognise all the wisdom before us.
