....are ticking. That was not what I was going to say, although they are. They never stop...the external heartbeat...remind us that we are in the now and the future is almost now.
Have you ever laid on your kitchen rug and listened to the tick tock of the clock for a long time and started to enjoy it, like music?
Some folk despise the sound of quiet with the sound of only a ticking clock. I personally really enjoy that.
Of course, despite all nudges, re: change the clocks...I did not change mine.
I was an hour ahead this morning. Not so bad, because my first appointment was at 10am and it gave me time to get a decent breakfast in. Porridge.
Although I had double booked (what's new) and missed my dental appointment. I got it rebooked for this afternoon. Being in the 2% (I would imagine) who likes and enjoys going to the dentist, I was pleased to find no problems and a smiley welcome from the receptionist and my dentist. Always nice to know that my smile is a healthy one.
I know that the clock changing is really pointless, and although it was a certain concession made for the farming community, I am not a farmer and I don't care (neither do they with modern technology). It throws me off for at least two weeks (I have a very accurate internal clock, ask me the time and I can tell you - without a watch - within about 10 min accuracy and sometimes spot on) I have always had it.
There is discussion that this clock back and forward BS will be ending in 2024. I hope so. It is disorienting.
