Yesterday was all about the eyes. going for a test with a friend and navigating through the process.
It's very interesting, optometrists. How many pairs of eyes do they deal with on a daily basis?
New technology is now able to produce a very detailed examination. The latest examinations can use (if you choose) to take in depth investigation for possible eye defects or illness. Glaucoma and other eye disease. I am booked in for next week. I would like to know about the condition of my eyes since I value them very much.
I keep a medical file in relation to my mental and physical wellbeing, my eye health and my dental health and pet health, car health, home health and financial health. clearly, I was a doctor in my previous life ; ) I like to keep a paper trail....with everything.
The selection of eyewear is quite overwhelming, but good in that there is not a style or colour available. Personally, I prefer a 'cat' shaped style that slants upwards at the wing of the 'oval'. I also like a square frame.
My friend has two pairs to collect next week.
Navigating the busiest part of town was fine, if you keep on laughing and joking as you go, it prevents any anxiety caused from 'too many people in a loud and chaotic environment'.
It's easier to go to the town with someone who is also prone to anxiety in these type of environments.
Today is, so far, all about tantric massage. Another friend is studying tantric massage and is practicing her skills and learning. I volunteered. Just as my osteopath has noticed, she has noticed that I am super receptive to treatment. I breathe into my lungs and exhale deeply in a kind of rhythm to the movement of the practitioner's hands. I feel completely at ease and in a place of trust. This enables receptivity. She used Neroli oil with a massage base oil. It is made from the blossom of the bitter orange fruit (Seville orange - produced for marmalade as well, not sweet orange fruit tree) It takes 3 tonnes of the orange blossom to make one quart of oil. It is one of the most expensive oils (as is Rose oil) because of the amount of raw ingredient used for production.
Using this essential oil in massage is very effective. It's healing properties included reducing inflammation, alleviating stress, stimulating circulation, enhancing mood, also diminishes any scarring, or stretch marks. That's a ladies oil, indeed - not that I have stretch marks, I was eating a fresh fish diet, baked potatoes and lots or horchata, and ice-cream. Omega 3, potassium and calcium, throughout my pregnancy. I am sure this is why my skin was supple and stretchy, in combination with lots of sunshine and salt water. I lost the extra baby pounds very rapidly - through being non-stop and - some might say excessively - active afterwards.
After a very intense massage, through the tantric method, you are very relaxed and floaty - similar to a good yoga session.
My friend is very gifted and she instinctually located areas of locked stress and energy in order to release it. Very therapeutic. For the rest of the day, a lot of fluids and a slow pace.
My dog-care friend has just dropped off a homemade quinoa salad box for me (how thoughtful) Good clean food. I have tried her thai green curry, and it is outstanding. I will be dog-sitting tomorrow while she attends a rehearsal. She dropped me off a 5G brown hair dye, since we have similar colouring and are similar age (same birth year) She had bought two. I am not inclined to use it, I stopped dying my hair nearly a year ago. Perhaps she considers silver hair to be ageing, as many people do.
I do not have a problem with my ageing process...it's natural. I like the idea of the glow that comes off well conditioned silver tresses. Silver halo. It is only in our culture and society that we consider ageing to be 'avoided' or 'held back'. Utterly stupid, if you ask me. Beautiful silver, beautiful scars...to be proud of. I avoid all things that claim 'anti-ageing', an over exaggerated claim. I avoid everything that does not have a natural plant base and is from an organic source (including plastic within and packaging) for my hair and body. The years pass and the process is unavoidable. The best that we can do is to take care of our health, physically and mentally and, indeed, spiritually.
Music of the day. The more I listen to this fourteenth studio album, the more I enjoy it.
